Registration starts, registrations end and idea submission end dates can be changed by clicking on 'change date'. Users can either type the dates or click the calendar icon and there will be a drop-down calendar to choose the dates.
The notice feature on the live edit page can be used by any organiser if they have some sort of prerequisite regarding registrations. Also if they have some other notice to be displayed on the home page of the hackathon, it will fill that requirement.
The Hackathon Winners section is only visible when the organizers announce the winners. This can be edited in the admin side panel.
Below we can see the 'Thank you for registering for Bootcamp!'. This section can be edited in the admin panel, in the dashboard visibility section that's under the Edit hackathon details. If 'NO' is checked, this would be visible for the registered participants.
Users have the ability to tailor the page in accordance with their hackathon. They can show or disable any section if it does not suit their event. This option is shown above every section as 'Do you want to make this section visible?' and a simple yes or no would suffice. If yes is checked, that section will be visible to all who view the organizers' hackathon homepage.
The about section should be used to describe the hackathon. Here in this dialogue box, users have a few features that are available to be used. The first feature is to choose the type of writing(Heading, body etc), whether it be bold, italic or underlined. They will be able to choose the colour of the text as well and the choice to convey information, either using numbered or bullet points. The last feature is the Html tag. It can be styled as you like. We have given the users the ability to use iframe so that they can embed youtube videos and map locations.
The interface is easy to use to add images/vectors and descriptions of the sections.
The Checkpoint/Challenges/problem statement section can be edited. If there is an alternative title, it can be revised. Here in the below image, we can see that an image can be added, a description of the challenge as well as a detailed version. Once everything has been tailored to your needs, do not forget to click on save at the bottom.
Mentor details can be fully altered too. users need to add in their mentor details, they can simply copy-paste their LinkedIn URL so that it can be viewed on the main Hackathon page and when clicked on will redirect them to their LinkedIn page. The images can be saved and uploaded from the local device or the URL can simply be pasted and the portal will show the image.
The same steps are to be followed for editing the jury's section. If the Mentor or jury is judging or evaluating the teams, the 'mentor will judge teams' or 'jury will score teams' should be checked. Only then they will be given access to the scoring link.
The next section depicts your hackathons schedule. In this area, the organizer can add their timings, date, name and descriptions of their events. By simply clicking on 'Add schedule' new dialogue boxes open and the user can fill in the details. If the scheduled event has a link, you can add it in the details and check 'make the schedule clickable' and it will redirect to the linked page when click on.
Once the event has been created, it can be edited by clicking on the pencil icon or if you want to remove the event the user can just click on the trash can button to delete it. Make sure to click on save at all times during the editing process so that you don't lose the made changes.
In the rewards and benefits section, the organizer can fill in the details of their prizes. They have to fill in the details and upload a picture.
If no picture is uploaded, the H2S system will automatically generate a picture for it. This goes for the checkpoint/challenges/problem statement section as well.
In the Partners section, the user can choose the type of partner and upload their image to this section and according to the type of partner it will be displayed.
While adding partners, organizers can add partners links to redirect them to the partners page.
Many registered participants have questions that need to be answered. The general and most common questions and answers can be filled in the FAQ's section. The user has to click on 'Add new FAQs' to add new questions. If they want to edit or delete a question, they have to click on the edit pencil icon or the delete trash can button respectively. To open up the question box, the user or participant needs to click on the down arrow button and the answer would follow up in a drop-down box.
