Creators have the ability to edit and change the details of the hackathon which they had done in the initial 3-step creation process.
The three boxes, the first one being Total visit, shows the number of times the hackathon page has been visited. The second box, total teams is the number of teams that have registered. And the last box, the total participant exhibits the number of individual participants.
The hackathon URL can not be revised. It's a non-editable section, hence make sure that you have chosen the desired URL at the beginning of the hackathon creation process.
The hackathon's full name can be edited to your want. The URL for the cover image can be entered as well for the company logo. These can also be edited in the Live edit section for a more visually interactive experience.
Hackathon Verification control allows the organizers to choose their mode of verification to confirm the participants. Email verification is standard and is always turned on and cannot be disabled. Mobile number verification via OTP (one-time password) can be enabled or disabled. This feature is currently only for participants who are registered from India.
A recently added feature that can be seen is the hackathon participants type: Solo and team participation. This is a two-phased hackathon option. when the organizer creates a two-phase hackathon it will be run parallel.
The first will be hackathon A, and the second will be hackathon B, where A will be solo and B will be a duplicate with the same details with less hectic clerical work. Hackathon B will act as the second phase of the hackathon where shortlisted teams from Hackathon A will automatically be added after they have been shortlisted in Hackathon A. Thereon those shortlisted participants who were added in Hackathon B will be allowed to create teams and join teams within themselves and will receive all the communication separately in Hackathon B. NOTE: hackathon participation type and team members limit can only be changed once.
If the organizer decided to choose a two-phase hackathon, the second URL will have 'phase-two' in it. There will not be two different homepages, but only one landing page that will be acting as both hackathons homepages. The phase 2 page can only be accessed once phase one has been completed.
Phase 2 accessibility can be given to the participants only if the organiser allows them. The objective of phase 2 can be defined as when phased hackathons are created the first phase will act as initially shortlisting teams of solo participation, where no teams are allowed. All the members are solo teams, after all those teams have submitted their ideas, after being shortlisted they will move on to phase 2. And in this phase, they are allowed to create teams amongst themselves.
After being shortlisted, the participants will go directly to the phase 2 dashboard only and will no longer be seeing the phase 1 dashboard.
The hackathon type can be changed by checking the online, physical/offline or hybrid modes.
Hackathon Support email can be used to add the emails that need to be used for the support domain. Only an email input type can be added here. This will also change the email for the hovering envelope icon in the participants' dashboard.
In the dashboard is accessible to participants section, if a certain type of hackathon requires certain answers to be submitted, then the organizer needs to allow the dashboard access by checking 'YES'. The organizers can give resources to develop the participants' ideas around the hackathon. In the case where the hackathon is not accepting any submissions and only a knowledge session or webinar is available to view, then the user must check 'NO' in the dashboard accessibility section.
Customizable text can be added when 'No' is Checked for dashboard accessibility and will be displayed on the main homepage. If the registration is successful then the register now button will display registration successful. Now, if the organizer wants to make the register now an action button with the link to attend webinars, the organizer should paste the respective link in the 'link where you want to redirect after users click on the button' box. When the button is clicked it will redirect the registered participants to the webinars. Suppose the organizer wants to leave it as a non-action button, they have to either type '#' or 'javascript:void(0); .
H2S has given the users the option of a theme colour for your hackathons homepage. The theme colour can be customized, either drag or set the colour, or customize the values if you are familiar. There is a colour picker that can be used to pick a colour from any part of the screen. If there is no chosen theme, the users can check the box 'this hackathon is not themed'.
The hackathon is open for depicts which type of audience is eligible for registration in the organizers' hackathon.
Hackathon is always public, private has been disabled. No closed mechanism is created for tracking private. Everything is available publicly.
Social media links can be edited. The default links will be H2S's social media handles. If the organizer wants to add their own, they can add their respective social media links. Presuming that the organizer wants to remove certain social media links, they can keep them blank along with clicking on update Hackathon at the bottom of the page and it will not be visible on the main page.
